Fae Farm, the cozy multiplayer farming sim released by Phoenix Labs in 2023, is winding down its online life. A notice on the Steam store now reveals that co-op support will cease on September 10, 2025 at 23:59 Pacific Time, and the game will receive no further updates. While single-player mode will remain intact, the multiplayer component that defined much of its appeal will go dark.
“Important Update: Fae Farm will be going offline September 10 at 23:59 Pacific Time. Fae Farm will no longer be playable online and will not receive any future updates. Its single-player offline mode will remain available.”
A reason for the shutdown wasn’t provided, but as PC Gamer notes, Fae Farm requires a Phoenix Labs account for online play—likely the root of the problem. Those accounts “will be going away very soon,” as it now appears the studio itself has gone away as well. Phoenix Labs, which laid off “the majority of the studio” in January, seems to have now been shuttered entirely, with its official website offline and its Epic Games Store listing removed .
The move follows a series of setbacks for the developer, including the shutdown of its debut game Dauntless earlier this year. With Phoenix Labs apparently gone for good, Fae Farm will live on in offline mode only—stripped of the multiplayer charm that first brought its community together.
