Dying Light: The Beast Reveals Full System Requirements Ahead of Launch

Your rig better be ready—The Beast is no joke.

Dying Light: The Beast is Techland’s upcoming standalone survival horror action-adventure, acting as a successor to the original duo and serving as a spiritual sequel—a.k.a. Dying Light 3 in all but name. Originally conceived as a DLC for Dying Light 2, the project expanded into its own game after a 2023 leak forced the studio to rethink its direction.

You step back into the shoes of Kyle Crane—returning after years in captivity, now transformed by experiments into a half-human, half-zombie hybrid. His home is the eerie, rural expanse of Castor Woods, a haunting, forested open world that contrasts the dense urban environments of the earlier games. Expect parkour, crafting, and chaotic night raids, with vehicles and firearms elevated to a more prominent role.

Gameplay introduces Beast Mode—a rampage-fueled state triggered by Rage, inspired oddly enough by Pac-Man’s fast-paced action—letting you unleash Crane’s monster side in the heat of combat.

Techland built The Beast atop their refined C-Engine, optimized for dense forests, dynamic weather, and smooth streaming on current-gen hardware.

From its origin as DLC to its reinvention as a full-featured standalone, Dying Light: The Beast promises a leaner, more brutal, and focused survival-horror ride—dripping with the dread of night and Crane’s inner monster.

With its September 19 launch creeping ever closer, Techland has now revealed the full PC and laptop system requirements to help players gear up for the beast ahead.
