Battlefield Studios may have asked participants in the latest Battlefield 6 Labs playtest to keep things under wraps, but that request lasted all of two seconds before leaks began… as expected. Despite strict NDAs, clips of the massive new maps—Mirak Valley and a revived Operation Firestorm—started popping up almost immediately online.
Reddit and social feeds lit up with gameplay footage comparing Mirak Valley’s scale to classic multiplayer arenas like Golmud Railway. The terrain looks expansive, with rolling hills, trenches, and open lines of sight that scream classic Battlefield chaos. Most of those uploads have since been pulled due to copyright claims, but not before the community dissected every frame.
This development comes as the Labs program reopens ahead of the game’s October 10 launch, offering fresh access for testers to experience big maps, a server browser, and custom modes through Portal. EA appears almost casually permissive—leaks stay live for days, possibly turning Lancetimes into marketing ammunition.
The leak frenzy isn’t limited to maps. Early Portal mode clips, technical tool showcases, and full weapon collections have all surfaced as part of the Labs leaks.
What was once a liability is now fueling excitement. The leaks are arguably becoming part of Battlefield 6’s hype engine, giving players their first taste of large-scale warfare and customization tools months before the official release. After years of beta frustration about cramped firefights, that might be just what the franchise ordered.
