Behaviour Interactive is back at it again—this time dragging The Walking Dead into Dead by Daylight’s ever-growing Fog. The asymmetric PvP horror game’s latest crossover Chapter drops July 29, adding Rick Grimes and Michonne as playable Survivors, with Daryl Dixon joining the lineup via a Legendary Outfit. Because nothing says “horror crossover” like the chance to get murdered in the woods with characters who’ve already survived multiple apocalypses.
Fans of AMC’s long-running zombie drama will be pleased (and possibly a little emotionally fragile) to see Andrew Lincoln return to voice Rick, alongside Michonne, whose blade-wielding survival instincts are fully intact. Both Survivors come loaded with three unique Perks each—some of which are pure chaos fuel for both casual players and sweaty meta-chasers.
Rick’s Perks are all about tactical grit:
- Apocalyptic Ingenuity: Replace broken pallets with fragile ones in key moments.
- Come and Get: Turn into a temporary human decoy to mask injured teammates.
- Teamwork: Toughen Up: Reduce your tells when a teammate stuns the Killer.
Meanwhile, Michonne’s Perks bring relentless survival energy:
- Conviction: Give yourself a second wind from the Dying State—at a cost.
- Last Stand: A well-timed Fast Vault can now briefly stun the Killer.
- Teamwork: Throw Down: Stun the Killer and give injured Survivors Endurance.
The Perks are a mix of bold plays, clever misdirection, and the kind of high-risk mechanics that perfectly match these characters’ TV arcs. And not to be left out, Daryl Dixon (voiced by Norman Reedus) shows up as a Legendary Outfit for Rick, bringing his signature crossbow-wielding, post-apocalyptic biker vibe to the roster. Additional outfits based on iconic moments from the show—like Rick’s “Last Day on Earth” and Michonne’s “What We Become”—also join the store.
To deepen the fan service, Behaviour has built a special Map Tile that fuses iconic locations like the prison from Seasons 3–4 and the haunting “Don’t Open, Dead Inside” doors from the series pilot. This corrupted map element only appears when Rick or Michonne are in play, but it’s a subtle flex for longtime fans who’ve followed the show from the early days.
The Chapter is now live on the Public Test Build (PTB) with a full launch slated for July 29 across all platforms. This is yet another notch in Dead by Daylight’s horror crossover belt—following previous collaborations with Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and countless original Killers. With more than 60 million players and a staggering 2 million daily users, Dead by Daylight continues to prove that in the world of multiplayer horror, it’s not just surviving—it’s thriving.
