Fellowship Brings MODA Dungeon Runs to Steam This Weekend

MODA wants to be the new MOBA.

You’ve probably heard of multiplayer online battle arenas, or MOBAs, like League of Legends or Dota 2. Fellowship wants to carve out its own lane with a MODA, or multiplayer online dungeon adventure. Instead of pushing lanes, players dive into endlessly scaling dungeons, relying on teamwork and strategy to survive.

The fantasy co-op title from Chief Rebel and Arc Games is gearing up for its first big showing with an Open Beta running September 18–23. The test is exclusive to Steam, and players will need to request access from the store page to join. It’s a chance to try out heroes across the stereotypical RPG Trinity—Tank, Healer, and DPS—while facing unique bosses and experimenting with both Quick Play and Ranked dungeon runs.

Gameplay is designed for replayability. Dungeons scale in difficulty the further players progress, while modifiers and seasonal updates keep challenges fresh. Loot plays a central role, with gear upgrades, relics, and customization options rewarding each run. Leaderboards add a competitive edge for Ranked play, while Quick Play sessions aim to keep things approachable for shorter sessions. Cooperation is key: tanks absorb damage, healers provide sustain, and DPS drive the offense, but success hinges on synergy between all three.

Early Access launch on Steam was originally planned for October 9 but was pushed back by one week to October 16, 2025. The developers say the extra time is needed for polish ahead of launch. Once live, the Early Access version will include the game’s core systems and content, with updates adding features and refinement based on community feedback over an estimated six-month period.

At first glance, Fellowship looks like a traditional RPG dungeon grind without the open-world exploration. It’s not exactly a new concept and whether it takes off still remains to be seen.
