After years of whispers and wishful thinking, Rust, the infamous survival sandbox game is finally going mobile. Level Infinite, under official license from Facepunch Studios, has revealed the first cinematic trailer for Rust Mobile, showcasing a game that promises to retain the full-brutality DNA of its PC predecessor while adapting for modern mobile play.
Rust Mobile isn’t just slapping a touchscreen on chaos and calling it a day—it’s rebuilding the mayhem brick by brick, optimized for tap-happy thumbs. According to Level Infinite, the mobile version retains Rust’s brutal open-world PvP, base building, and permadeath mechanics—but is also tailored to “fit into your pocket without losing your edge.” Expect dynamic weather, day-night cycles, region-specific biomes, and that signature paranoia-inducing tension where every stranger could be a threat (or worse, a teammate).
Designed for mobile-first accessibility, Rust Mobile offers flexible survival paths—whether you’re going full raider or building quietly in the woods. Think lunch break loot runs and commuter raids, without diluting the game’s ruthless core.
The first public hands-on demo for Rust Mobile will happen at Gamescom 2025, running from August 20 to 24 in Cologne, Germany. Attendees can visit Hall 6.1, Booth C-051g to try the game firsthand and grab exclusive Rust Mobile merch while supplies last.
Level Infinite also confirmed that the game has improved significantly since its early tech test in Canada earlier this year, hinting at enhanced performance, polish, and content.
Android and iOS users eager to throw rocks, hoard scrap, and betray their friends in transit can pre-register now.
No official release date has been announced, nor are there confirmed details on crossplay, modding, or monetization models. But given Level Infinite’s experience with mobile hits like PUBG Mobile and Honor of Kings, Rust Mobile could bring the chaos to a whole new crowd.
