Wild Rift Patch 6.2: Three New Champions, Soulforce Grind, and a Very Angry Pig

Three champs, one pig, and a whole lotta Soulforce.

League of Legends: Wild Rift is brewing up another major update for the mobile MOBA crowd. Patch 6.2, dubbed Powers Unbound, drops July 17 and brings a wave of new content to shake up the Rift — including three champions, a fresh seasonal theme, gameplay reworks, and a pig that charges turrets. No, seriously.

The big feature this time is Soulforce Awakening, a new progression system built around collecting Soulforce Energy and leveling up a Soulforce Box. Play matches, earn energy, and unlock up to 12 rewards — including card packs, consumables, and exclusive chromas for Aurora, a new high-skill assassin who literally jumps between realms. She headlines this patch alongside two more champions familiar to PC players: Bard, the cosmic support with game-warping utility, and Vel’Koz, the long-range artillery mage who deletes backlines with science and lasers.

For longtime players of the mobile multiplayer online battle arena, this patch packs some key gameplay tuning. Galio and Swain both get reworks to better highlight their core roles — tanky magic resist wall and demonic team-fight monster, respectively. Varus, Ashe, Zeri, Vayne, and Miss Fortune also get targeted tuning to clean up their identities and push back against build homogenization.

The item system is getting its biggest overhaul in a while. The standout is Soul Transfer, a new crit item that summons a clone mimicking your attack speed, range, and crits — perfect for blowing up squishies or just doubling your chaos. Other classic items like Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, and Essence Reaver have been sharpened to make their effects more distinct, while enchantments now offer role-specific power-ups that should add more variety to your builds.

Gameplay pacing has been tweaked across the board. Turret plating drops earlier, Baron shows up faster, and outer turrets are weaker, setting the stage for quicker, scrappier matches. The new Enchanted Piggy miniboss appears in Legendary Queue, and if you take it down, you get gold, XP, and a Piglet that charges enemy turrets like an adorable battering ram. Yes, this is real. The Dragon pit brush also gets layout tweaks, and mysterious easter eggs now reward clever or stylish plays.

Game modes aren’t left out. Ultimate Spellbook returns with a big twist — you now pick your bonus ultimate before the game and can reroll it mid-match for added bonuses. AAA ARAM also gets a visual overhaul, plus new mechanics like Animal Archetypes and 60+ new cards for added chaos and variety — perfect for quick hits on the go.

For Ranked players, progress now carries over into Legendary Queue, and Grandmaster is split into three tiers to make climbing (and falling) less brutal. There’s a new Ranked-exclusive Galio skin, plus a pair of new Wild Pass skins: Wondertown Lillia and Battlecast Urgot. Galio’s Aegis, the post-match recognition system for strong individual play, also returns as a permanent feature after positive feedback.

Finally, the new limited-time event Aurora’s Adventure offers a grindable path to unlocking Star Guardian Jinx: Exquisite Edition — a brand-new cosmetic tier that’s basically a flex skin for players who can put in the work. Expect FOMO. Expect sparkle.

Wild Rift Patch 6.2 isn’t due for another few weeks—so in the meantime, Riot Games snuck in Patch 6.1f, which largely focuses on polishing gameplay and reactivating some old-school tech like Doublecast. Think of it as warming up before the main event.

Here’s what’s live now in Patch 6.1f:
